Why I do what I do

This website will give you a glimpse into my work as an artist,  community builder and activist. I have been negotiating the world through the lens of a creative entrepreneur for the last two decades. It's been a wonderful journey with a lot of learning and collaborating with people I deeply respect.
In the coming years, I believe that creative thinkers will be crucial to document, stitch, hold and present the world. We are at the very edge of collapse on one side, and of a future that can spin out into unimaginable wonders on the other. I believe we can get to the happier side by working together!

This work has an unique size which I am doing for my sister. A constant theme in many of paintings, are butterflies and flowers. As my sister doesn’t want me to use blues and greens, but just limited colours, I have restricted my palette. This I feel, is good for me, as otherwise I would use a lot of colours. Instead of putting two flowers and one butterfly, I thought shall draw two butterflies and one flower :-)

  • i just love this painting. the whole thing reads beautifully. the colours, the composition.. i feel that here is a culmination of everything that you have been doing so far. beautiful beautiful work. i love the restriction of palette, but still there is so much colour it looks enough.
mature work. i can see a whole series based on this. really really love it.
excellent work nirali. you’re making leaps and bounds my dear!! why dont you make me one like that? its that nice hee hee hee

  • oh, i think this piece is complete the way it is. i love the whiteness of the canvas coming through.

  • Full agreement with pooj. Really like the light, happy feeling of this painting. the butterflies and the flowers interact so well, and there is something decidedly ‘Asian’ about the rendering of the flowers.
