Beliner + C/O Pop
Met some great folks though this trip. 10 boys and girls from across India, Pak and Sri Lanka. Artist (me), Musicians, journalists and festival organisers were in the mix sent by the Goethe Institute to interact with our German counter parts. It was one of those lucky unions of mind and soul. I found me more family
It was a super eye-opener week. Connected with art groups, artists, VJ groups and musicians across Europe through the C/O Pop circuit. Saw truly alternative and progressive art splattered in the streets, in the galleries and in the homes of the this truly liberal, golden society. I love Germany!
There is something to be said for art that is disassociated from money-making. Rather inadvertently the German government through their social welfare plan, has become the major patron of artists. It has created a hub, a buzz and pure creative freedom to those that practice there. The electronica scene is so crazy vibrant and the art is of and for the people!
Ja man! I am going back there as soon as I can.
Of the many super things that will come our of this trip, one is the Nameless Now project. It basically is a groups of electronica artists (DJ’s, musicians) and I pushing towards a live performance music-visual art set. The hope is to take the show across India and Sri Lanka initially and then eventually to Germany. It is a collab of artists from 4 countries, and seeks to extend beyond and reach others as well…
It, in many ways, is my dream and vision for my video art, coming alive. Wish me the best on this one girlies!
