Why I do what I do

This website will give you a glimpse into my work as an artist,  community builder and activist. I have been negotiating the world through the lens of a creative entrepreneur for the last two decades. It's been a wonderful journey with a lot of learning and collaborating with people I deeply respect.
In the coming years, I believe that creative thinkers will be crucial to document, stitch, hold and present the world. We are at the very edge of collapse on one side, and of a future that can spin out into unimaginable wonders on the other. I believe we can get to the happier side by working together!

Camouflage – 7ft x 4ft. completed…

January 27th, 2009

I have completed this work & think it looks much much better now. What do you guys think?I am really enjoying working on this bigger size and have started a new canvas… this time with flowers :-)

Its just that the past month, I have been so busy travelling to Bangalore, Mumbai that there has been a break in my work schedule, which is distracting. Next month, again I shall be going to bangalore… Arc we should meet!! Bway, whats happening about our 3 For show?
You know, I am getting quite tense about everything, painting, shows and all. I feel I need direction, like a goal to work. I get restless when I have to work not knowing for what. Definately painting gives the momentary satisfaction… but it also gives an indescribable ‘fatigue’!!!

  • nirali,
this is a great piece. love the way it turned out!! i love the depth and layering.
i agree with you 100% about painting. i feel like ok, what am i painting for. i am just rotten. since dec i have not done one piece as i am so disillusioned!! i need motivation and a push!

  • Poojie… we should do a show!!
Hey Arcna, put us in your busy schedule :-))

  • Nirodh – this work turned out beautifully! Congrats. Love the texturing and layering. Way to go sweetie.

Re the 3For show: My attempt for it is to have 5 medium-large canvases + 1 book + 1 video art piece. Perhaps you guys could outline your plans here as well. The space in Blore is confirmed at Samuha :) Im thinking that August would be ideal…would that work for you guys? This would give us the right amount of time to ensure that we have our works ready + the exhibition design and peripherals done too. So we should target finishing our paintings by end June so that we have a month to work on the exhibition design. Let’s do this!

  • very cool girls. lets get on it. i’m concerned about shipping and such.
