Why I do what I do

This website will give you a glimpse into my work as an artist,  community builder and activist. I have been negotiating the world through the lens of a creative entrepreneur for the last two decades. It's been a wonderful journey with a lot of learning and collaborating with people I deeply respect.
In the coming years, I believe that creative thinkers will be crucial to document, stitch, hold and present the world. We are at the very edge of collapse on one side, and of a future that can spin out into unimaginable wonders on the other. I believe we can get to the happier side by working together!

Going in Circles

c
November 1st, 2010

Hello, Yeah, this is the new series I have started working on for our Jaaga show. And yes, I have got the canvases stretched. Each measuring 15 inches x 15 inches
I have started working on two works as in the initial ‘drawing’ on canvas shown in images . This series as mentioned in my earlier post is related to my stay in Baroda. I shall write more about it. But obviously my ideas shall form or deviate as I progress :-)
I have used the same drip method and made the initial sketch…

  • looks great nirali. i couldn’t enlarge the first image to take a closer look, but the second painting looks great. reminds me of water lillies. the yellow looks beautiful. looks like it is headed in a great direction. soft and beautiful. love the circles coming through in some areas – like the leaves in water lillies. good job!

  • like the progress made on the painting…interesting to see from thought to theme to initial drips and markings to slightly more structured form…

    its waiting to explode…
